I took this picture with the Canon 100-400L IS USM. I guess I still need to practice
a lot with this lens.

Looks pretty sharp to me.
What f stop was this shot at?
I brought a 100-400 a few weeks ago and it's not tack sharp until f8. A lot of reports say they're sharp wide open. Although, a lot of reports also say they aren't. :?

Hi, What body are you using?? At 1/80 with the 100-400 you may get a better result by pushing ISO up and appature down to F5.6-F8 as DOF is no issue(side on subject) Try to achieve about 1/125th shutter and see how you go--jim
Assumind 40d or better the ISO shouls go to 800-1000 if needed!!

I am afraid I am using a 30D still. I am contemplating
upgrading either to a 7D or even a 5D. I would like a
full frame, but I got lenses that wouldn't work in the 5D.
