Taken along the Avenue of the Stars - HK's dodgy take on Hollywood's Walk of Fame (they imitate EVERYTHING here!)

On centre stage
Spot metered on face, then switched over to manual mode and manual focus. 1/25s at ISO 400. Shot in available light.

One more
Another angle

And then there was
this guy, who was hilarious. His poor English didn't deter him from singing english songs. He drew big crowds, probably for the wrong reasons.
Having lots of fun

In contrast, there was this guy Tony promoting his CD and website (I'll give him a plug, http://www.tony-music.com). Sings like he does it for a living, but in Cantonese which is wasted on me... ;)
Check out his guitar!

Flash pics taken at ISO 400 exposed for 1/60s, with SB-800 in AA mode, -1/3FV, countering +1/3EV on camera exposure.

The Symphany of Lights was the main reason I was in the area at that time. A laser light show painting the city skyline. Viewed from Tsim Sha Tsui (try saying that fast ten times ;)).

Great stuff, Chi.

I love the feel of the first three, with the overexposed backgrounds.

Have they tilted the island, or are the buildings all going to be falling off to the right at some stage in the future? :)

Chi

The symphony of lights is interesting, but seems a little overexposed. How much of the lighting is for the symphony of lights and how much is the normal lighting.

Plus - you must have more shots of this - any others to show.

Interesting shots, like the symphony of lights but looks like a tripod was in order. On the interesting guitar shot, did you notice how much mineral water the old lady behind has?

Thanks guys, yes I definitely need a tripod...and one with a spirit level too! ;)

Point taken, overexposed lights on the buildings. Must try for less next time. The Symphany of Lights is more a moving laser light show, the regular building lights including giant (overexposed) brand names in neon are permanently there.

And, it's Tony collection of mineral water in the background there. :)
