Sunrise, Sunset and pano madness

Well thats easter done thank goodness.. :wink:

being that time of year where getting up when its dark is actually not that hard I took the opportunity to get out early to a location which I scoped out at Christmas (see here ), completely different conditions this time! no clouds and lots of clear sky!

One thing I did learn, which is probably bleeding obvious to most however...take some time to look over your shoulder in the opposite direction to where the sun is coming up! the colours and colour gradients were awesome! there is no way my camera was gonna convey the tonal range and colours but, hey I gave it a go!

Comments? improvements?

the panoramas are awesome

how exactly did you get the kangaroo so close it looks like it was setup
are there just kangaroos hopping along at this beach, if so it's pretty amazing

the roos up there are pretty used to people due to the camping ground, this guy and his mate were out on the rocks dabbling their little toes in the water, I just positioned my self in a spot between them and their bush home so they had to come past me :up:

Tell us how you got the waves to be mushy? ND filter?

PP in NX2 as follows;

Cropped
D-lighting
Contrast adjustment
Healing brush to remove some minor vignetting due to the filters
adjust colour cast

I used the 11-16mm Tokina with two filters, the polariser and ND8 - you can see the vignetting in the original shot.

below is the original raw image downsized and jpeg'ed
