These shots were taken of a young performer at the Royal Easter Show. She is a member of the Talent Advancement Program that I work with. She's such a pleasure to shoot as she gives 100% then gives more.
Whaddyathink? Go on, be brutal, I can take it!

and again... (this is the one I really like)

Hi Ian =D

Great timing I must say, and exposure to me looks great too.

My critique lies on your composition. The second image looks great in the time it was taken, but to me theres too much negative space above her. Maybe try a landscape orientation, thats a tight crop to her face, hair and microphone?

All in all, you've got timing. =)

Both shots are great. The only thing that I find distracting is the purple light on the second shot. Cropping the image to remove it would improve I think - even with that negative space above her. Gives the impression that she is on a big stage. However, doing what photomarcs suggests also works!!! Two very different photos, both showing something a little different, from the same photo.

Thanks for the advice- I'll have a play with number two and try tightening up the crop.
Thanks
