Decided to shoot something darker than my usual work. Colour-wise I was aiming for a movie-poster type look.

We had heaps of fun shooting this series.

Nice series, the model choices are spot on imo, that bloke is a perfect size! The welders apron is a very good choice too, I think with shoots like this you need dirty, well used props, maybe having his shirt and the mask (and the chainsaw for that matter) soiled a bit would add to the atmosphere....nothign like a bit of used wheel bearing grease  (although, bags not washing it afterwards!)

Also the choice in where the models look is important, maybe having eye contact between the two models would help? thoughts?

It is a great series and I agree about the props, how good would it look with the mask a little dirty? Where do you find these fine folk to have so much fun with?

Yes, I really wanted more dirt for this, but I stupidly cleaned my chainsaw before putting it in the car, and I couldn't dirty up his t-shirt because I didn't tell him he was going to model - he came down to shoot Jewel. He was a good sport for our first meeting!

I did try some eye contact shots, just couldn't make it work with the lighting I wanted. It might have worked close-in with a wide angle lens.

I find a lot of interesting people at Deviant Art, which is where I met Barrie.

How about adding a few kicker lights to seperate the models. Then all you have to do is do a composite background and you have moview poster.

well I would get him roped in again, he makes a good model for this kinda theme, big and burly...

fair call, its always easy in hindsight..

Cool theme

I look at it and the background looks a little sterile to me, could use something to break up all that black black (some sort of shape or texture)

Oh - and needs more blood!!
