Awww, they're so cute! I want one as a pet! ;)

Great captures John, and Fozzie too.

Reminds me of back in the mid 90's Telecom NZ used them in a marketting campaign. They were quite successful too IIRC.

I wonder if meercats can be kept as pets?

Way back in 1979, a South African hotel that I stayed at had an unusual house pet - a mongoose, and what a pet he/she was.

Does anyone know if the Australian Quoll can be tamed and kept as a pet?

Excellent photos by the way!!

I don't think Quolls would make very good pets - unless you're keen on losing your fingers. From what I know of them, they're marginally better tempered than Tassie Devils, but only just.

Meerkats (correct spelling) would be much nicer to have around. They have a penchant for seeking out the tallest thing in the vicinity in order to survey their surroundings. You'd have to get used to them scurrying up your leg to perch on your head. How cool would that be!

Great photos guys - I'll have to dig out my Western Plains Zoo shots....
