I was catching up with my best mate last weekend and I (of course) had my camera with me. I whipped the camera out and managed to get this candid of his daughter. A little bit of PP applied, but the light was nice and I feel this is a 'keeper'.
Comments/critique welcomed:

Cute kid, but I'd be tempted to remove the vignette and do a bit more curve manipulation to increase the contrast. Her eyes are brilliant and just needs an extra push to make them stand out more.

the vignetting is way too noticeable imo, even just scaling it back would make a difference..I also agree with just a little more contrast, its also a great expression and thats the key to making this work, everything else after that is 'peas and carrots''. Whilst not a composition or PP aspect, my first thought was 'is she wearing lippie?'

I would just BW this (to remove lipstick as Gerry has pointed out) or Add a WHITE vignette to liven it up a little.

Thanks guys. Constructive and valued feedback.
As this was very much a quick candid...I have purposely vignetted (dark) the edges as to hide her Dad's hands as they just didn't look right there. She's not wearing lipstick at all. The suggestion of a white vignette could definitely work and I will give it a go when I can and re post. Thanks again guys.

Geoff,
I wouldn't worry about doing too much with this photo.
You've managed to capture an outstanding portrait of a beautiful child. This photo will be a timeless memory.

Most certainly a very nice photo. The lighter vignette is the way to go and, if possible, clone out the blue(?) patch on the left hand side of the photo.
