I attended the bi-annual live fire exercise at Puckapunyal army base thursday with various press

Abrams tanks , APC's , Javelin missile and Live bomb drops by F111's together with a static display of various vehicles and equipment made for an interesting day although the weather could have been kinder

The Abrams are beeing repainted from their delivery scheme of desert sand to more conventional local ''cant see me '' scheme

Abrams showing new paint

Both schemes in smoke and mist

Older scheme

Smoke and mist is a really moody image, the strongest of this set. Has a 'nice' battlefield feel to it. :D

Another vote for #2. The mood achieved with the smoke really makes this one.

The other images are all good, but really just show is what was there. #2 really lets us feel like we are witnessing something dramatic.

#2 is the best by far. If you desaturate it a bit more, then one could be mistaken that this is an ACTUAL battle field. Great composition and angle.
