Under 10's Footy -the power and the passionMy Grandson plays with the local team and this is his second year i go along most weekends and take the camera and try to capture some action, it aint easy as they are quite small figures on a large oval so to speak but with my trusty Nikon D3 and 20-400 vr lens with 1.4 converter i manage at times to get a half reasonable shot, not that these are anything special but as i viewed them it struck me just how intense the little fella's really are
I am interested to see if anyone agrees All taken between 9 and 10 am sunday morning in Melbourne outer west a cold morning but the winter light was lovely A moment after kicking the ball I will not let go It's all happening Mine !! Cheers Nikon boy Norman
Re: Under 10's Footy -the power and the passionI like the colour and action in all of them.
You also captured some intersting expressions. Well done!
Re: Under 10's Footy -the power and the passionYouv'e caught some great facial expressions, and your right to U10's that moment on the ball means the world - these shots will be very special to them in years to come.
I'm doing my Sons U10 soccer each week and I understand the challenge - the action is unpredictable at this age, always either on the other side of the ground, right on top of me or they have their backs towards me. But it is very rewarding when you get the good shots. I try and have a project each week ie catch a particular part of the game, a player, a tackle and play around with technique - at the moment it' s introducing some movement blur. I find this not only keeps it interesting but it stops me being a like so many mum's and offering vocal 'advice' to the umpire players and coach . I'm looking forward to some wet games with lots of mud PS the quality of your shots is excellent you should be pleased DebT DebT

Re: Under 10's Footy -the power and the passionThanks for the positive comments and Deb your right when you say that it seems you are always in the wrong spot
I am told patience is a virtue Must keep trying Nikon boy Norman
