I finally made it to Monarto to see the new chimp enclosure today. The lighting was a bit harsh for decent pics, but I did get a few.

Apparently a new zebra was born yesterday. I think the blurry bit may be a handprint on the bus window.

Kev, how good is the new chimp enclosure when they are outside - it allows for a variety of portraits and your fist is a winner. Nice and close with the Lion!!!

Kevin - the 'Chimps' are certainly the new draw card at Monarto. But I still can not go pass the 'Lion'. How did you manage to get such a great postiton, and therefore shot of the young male? ...well done
I am hoping to get back there sometime soon to catch up on the Chimps, Cheetah's and Lion's.

I am hoping to get back there sometime soon to catch up on the Chimps, Cheetah's and Lion's.

Just lucky I guess. He only stuck around for 3 or 4 shots, but the light was nice. This was from the RHS of the platform, at 300mm + 1.4TC.
