Thanks... Although I am sure Louise got sick of me suddenly pulling the car over to the side of the road...

I love these dramatic skys. Allways have.
My kids laugh at me when I am always pointing them out.

The clouds in the first shot look sensational! And the sun beaming through the clouds in the second and third shots are fantastic too! Did you use a filter?

No filter...
It is actually really amusing... I was cursing the haze that was around the area as i wanted some blue sky shots... But in the end I was loving it when they turned orange in those shots (with the aid of a slight bump in saturation..)

No. 3 for me. I really want to get out the clone tool from PS on number one and get rid of the power line.
MHD have you done any PP on these?

Yeah power line annoys me to..

These were shot in RAW so just the normal (Sat, Levels etc..)

No sharpening or mods...

To get these it was a matter of stopping the car at exactly the right moment (ie good god rays with not to much direct sun)

Power lines? That's what clone tool was invented for :)

Nice pics Scott. You got some nice weather for driving home in. Glad to see you made it safely back.

Nice pix Scott. I find though, that #2 is a bit oversaturated to my taste.

I think it's interesting to photograph clouds. :D

C'mon guys!....he cloned the powerline IN! Adds an extra element of interest. Somehow adds "power" to the shot.

hehe...
I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to the clone tool... I can always see it...

Yeh... number 2 is quite saturated... I mainly did it because it needed that element (and it was quite saturated in real life too)

Excellent crepuscles there MHD! I like the lot but 3 really looks the good for mine. You can have a lot of fun manipulating these. Don't be frightened to practice the clone stamp over powerlines, street lights etc, the more you practice..........Thanks for sharing these, it's certainly big sky country out in those parts of NSW. Last time I was there i drove from Home right through to QLD and saw the most magnificent sky displays. Alas it was during the 18 days in the past 6 years that I didn't own a camera! Doh!

MDH - I love looking at 'em but it hurts.
 You guys just have to keep showing those gorgeous skies, don't you? Amazing just amazing. Nice captures. I don't know if I've ever even seen "God rays" in my entire lifetime.

As for the clone tool, I never use it. My fav is the healing brush. I find it cures a multitude of sins with minimum fuss. Give it a try. I'll bet you'll like it. :D

Love #2, the rays over the old trees seems to do it for me... Great shots...
