A pink moment

Last weekend at Avalon a band of clouds passed over as the sun was coming up. The pink was in the clouds, on the ocean a bit everywhere.

i saw something very similar in queensland a few days ago
but you have captured it very well
i think it may need a little more highlight contrast to make it pop a bit more
seems realy heavy in the midtones and sort of muted

what a spin out, i looked at this and thought, that cloud looks familiar, then it clicked, avalon sydney, you were just up the road from me on the same day (last saturday).

I like the shot and the colours from that morning were devine for about...say...2 minutes! I agree with previous comments that the colour in the foreground looks a bit muted, I had a quick rework to see what it would look like, let me know if you want it removed or object to ur images being reworked.

Its a good show of the dynamic range of your camera too!

does this cloud look familiar?

Thanks for the comments. True I find it a bit dark but I would agree with Wendell that it need more contrast in the highlights rather than an overall increase in brightness. Here is another try:

Gerry, I think the scene was more like in my version but my monitor may be different to yours.

....... I find this image very flat and uninteresting, no wave action, no foreground, and lacking in colour

Biggerry,
Big Pix has an opinion, that's OK by me. I agree it looks flat when viewed in the post, looks different on my monitor. Some people will like this picture some won't but it is good to have comments and opinions

Gerry, both the reply from Glamy and the comment made by Bernie are within the context of critique!

Brilliant clouds and color and it looks like you were at the right place at the right time!!

I prefer the edited version as it's got much more contrast and color.

I think a landscape version of this to include more width would be better though. I agree that a few waves (or a stronger foreground interest) would have made this exceptional!

The original does look kind of murky and flat and whilst biggery's adjustments do bring it up, I must admit I still find the colors look a bit amped up and unnatural.

I prefer your last version. The version by Gerry is a little too bright for me and lacks the sultry mood you were able to capture.

I honestly don't know what to make of it. I know the original
lacks a bit of something (one or two stops short), but the
right picture of biggerry comes across to me a touch overdone
and almost artificial (personal taste only).
Here I would go either way depending on the mood and technical
Photoshop ability, which in my case is poor, and either be true
to what I saw that day on the beach or the creative way and
make something that punches your eyes.
