So, I was sent over to Taiwan this June for Computex, and was there for not too much over 48 hours.

For the time I wasn't actually at the expo, I managed to snap up a few pics.

Here were a few portrait shots taken:











These were all hand-held D300 with the soon to be sold 18-200mm VR. All were at 18mm, 2nd one cropped. No PP other than contrast & WB.

Of these, #2 and #3 grab me.
#2: While probably not the most flattering portrait I love this one. It has enough environment around it to give perspective and let us know where the subject is. Her face tells the story of a life of work on this shot. A quiet moment in and otherwise very active place.

#3 I love the action of this shot. Nothing is really sharp, but it conveys the chaos and noise and non-stop nature of the market really well. I also like the muted tones with the red of the food on the grill making it stand out as a subject. Even the blown background works for me, marking the difference between in the markets, and 'out there'.

Ah, I forgot to post one of my favourite 'moments'.

This one I took out of the tiny window opening out of my 8th floor hotel room.

For whatever reason, this guy just happened to be looking at the hotel at this exact moment. I'd say he was about 100m away, and I was just standing behind a gap in a reflective window.

I like the most recently posted one, very candid and its almost like hes been busted having a fag on the job. Its also a nice composition with some key elements that really make it work. The darkened door way also get me curious as to what is in there...nice one.
