I've been back from my holiday to England for a few weeks now, so I guess I should post something so show I was there.
Here are a few panos of what was my biggest reason for going.

Looking at them now, they seem a little plain. I wish I'd done a 360 pano from the inside...

I've still got other panos and hdr to process, but I uploaded most my shots online earlier this week and someone just purchased six prints! My first Smugmug sale.

You were fortunate to get access inside the circle, what was that experience like?
Did they let you use a tripod?

like the silouettes in the first two - lovely skies ..and a clever self poitrait in the third - so I'll keep my eye out for the HDR's as I'm sure they will bring out more details in the rocks

Despite the jet trails, I prefer #1 for the colors which give a sense of peace.

I like the second one best. I also had a look at your images on smugmug and there are some really lovely and iconic images of England on there. In fact, I think they are all very good images. Certainly among the better travel images I've seen, but then I would kind of expect that from you

The images from Fountains Abbey brought back some memories for me when I was a youngster, I used to visit the parklands surrounding quite often. It was always a nice day out there, to be amongst my ancestors

I agree I'm distracting. I could easily crop it down, or clone it out. I'll think about it.
I'm concerned about the green cast. It looked OK on a couple of calibrated LCDs here, but on my uncalibrated LCD at work it looked slightly green. I could adjust it, but don't want to go too far. Does it look green to other people?

It was very impressive. You don't really get a feel for how big the stones are until you walk under them. Unfortunately it's a bit of a blur, given I was rushing too much because of the time limit and it was quite early for me (first shot 4:55am).
If you're lucky it can be empty. I'm told going at dawn is quieter then sunset.
It's definitely worth looking at arranging Stone Circle Access. Our group arrived just before dawn and were the only ones there. About half way through another photographer arrived. So when we left, after our hour, he would have had the stones to himself!
We could use tripods, but not with spikes.
No chance to lightpaint. An hour is certainly not enough. Even with only 5 others there it's tricky to keep people out of shot.

I'll keep my eye out for the HDR's as I'm sure they will bring out more details in the rocks

Fountains Abbey was great. There were lots of people having picnics there with the same idea.


I forgot to mention, on Smugmug if you hit the "Map This" button you can see the GPS positions for all my shots.

While I was finishing my panos, I added a bit more magenta so hopefully that looks a little better.

I always find it interesting that different people like different shots. It does make it hard to pick shots to enter in competitions.
