Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Here is a couple more sunset shots for your C&C.

I have attempted to oversharpen to compensate for the forum down/up sizing (or maybe it's flickr!) but that doesn't seem to have worked!

Hi mate
Lovely part of the world we live in

Sometimes I love the long shots and sometimes not.
I find the first shot I love for the first second of viewing and then get distracted by the captured movement.
I do not know why, maybe there is not enough movement in the cloud?

In the second, it is amazing how much detail the bird adds to the scene.
Love it
whizzzz, there goes life again.....
But now captured on a Canon 40D with bits

Suren, I am very jealous of the opportunities you are getting whilst your up in Coal City.

The colours and skies are amazing, now to find something to give that foreground a bit more punch.

The bird in #2 is a nice touch!

Thanks Waz. I am loving NC and most thankful for the newcastle sundancers [http://www.flickr.com/groups/sundancers/] for introducing me to all these wonderful sights. I just wish that I can join you guys for more meets but there are logistical difficulties at the moment.

Fair enough.

I agree.

Good point! I think I can get a bit of jetty (with the UWA) if I stand on the jetty next time. The main problem with that is, if there are others photographing, you don't want to get in their way.

The newcastle sundancers meet almost every week for a sunrise (or sunset; or BOTH) and there is alot of learnt from their model. Their motto is turn up first; ask questions later.
