Below are some assorted shots from the last 4 weeks taken in and around my home town. I'd be interested in your critique on these images. Click a pic to see it larger.

While a little soft (hand held at 3200 ISO) the composition of this appeals. Next time I'll take a tripod.

First image is a stunner! The image is delightfully ambiguous and it certainly gets my attention. The scale has me confused as there is no further reference to decipher the size or distance. :D :D :D :D Beootiful!

#1...what Matt said!!! LOVE IT

#2, looking very good, gotta love the D700

#3...the horizon looks a bit out...could be just me, but you have done well with nice leading lines and plenty to keep you interested

#4, I like it, I will have to have a look at my scanned film but I think I have something VERY similar

:agree: Matt has summed up my sentiments exactly.
No.3 is interesting but imo needs something towards the end of the corridor for the eyes to go to. A person walking away would have been good.

I follow the crowds and I favour #1 for its
originality, but all of them are great shots
for different reasons that are too numerous
to list.

Thanks for your comments.

I'm extremely pleased with #1 and it's a stunning example of how much luck can play in getting an image. Leon wanted a shot of him driving down a dune so we stopped, I walked down the dune and took the shot below. Slightly further to the right on that dune is where I took the shot at the top of this post. Had we not stopped to take the car pic I'd have never spotted the image. That should also give some sense of scale to the shot.

and these are 4WD tracks in front of the dune face.

I do love the sand image Peter. The control of colour is exquisite too. I think it's perfectly balanced.

Thanks for posting the background for that shot!!

Love that Nobby's postcard like shot but #1 blows everything out of the water.

Really do love that first one Peter - it was an interesting pattern there eh - well spotted, and your PP work has done it real justice.

Must do it again soon - maybe get out the a bit earlier in the morning for better light :)

#1 is very interesting and unusual, even striking. Great composition and colour of one of the world's most plentiful substances, sand.

Ah Stockton Beach brings back memories from my childhood holidays taken at Williamtown.
