The third image is also very nice, but needs to have a longer shutter, maybe 1.5sec to get a bit more drama in that water movement. The exposure is nice on this one and I like the darker tones.
The grad ND in the second is bit overdone, probably could have done with out it (or lower stop) in this case, what stop was the GND?
Thanks Gerry. I really liked #4 as well. I was just lining up Raymond and then I saw the incoming wave so held off and timed it nicely. With #3 I was struggling to get a decent exposure length without blowing out the sun too badly...maybe it it time for a B+W 10 stop ND... I had the ND4 and ND8 stacked for #2, and I blame the sun for not lighting the sky evenly, maybe I should crop some off the top.

Must've been like blocks of ice after the meet.
#4 is a top shot and well captured
#2 & 3 could benefit from some exposure bracketing to hit the sweet spot with the grads
Nice meeting you
Feet were fine, the water was actually nice and warm and the Nike Free's dried out quickly enough. Great to meet you.
With #2 I dont like the overdone grads, but I like the darker look of #3. Next time I will try to bracket instead of looking for the next shot.

Thanks Trevor.
Thanks Suren, that maniac would be Raymond, and this was not the wave that got him...it was A LOT closer to me than him.
Maybe next time i will ask you to walk out into the my forground in your Booties to be my foreground interest...
I may get some surf shoes if I keep going to these things...but for the moment I am not sure if I will. I will however bring a 2nd pair of shoes next time.
