Ivo Rowe pool - sunrise

This is a great location! It really sings in high tide >1.4m.

My photos don't really do it any justice.

I struggled alot with various issues including composition. I was quite pre-occupied with staying safe after almost getting washed away in a large wave. Yeah yeah....excuses excuses...

Hint for people who wear scooba booties. Never remove them once they are wet. You can't get them on again!

As usual for your critique. I have played somewhat with the color balance.

Loving the third photo but great job all round :)

The lines, softness of water and colour are fantastic

:agree:
on a day where the swell is really pounding I reckon it would be awesome, but probably a little difficult to get close to the water :cough: I will keep this location in mind when the weather turns crap, its so easy to get to!

I am bringing you a tether and a life jacket next time :rotfl2: I think its a side ploy to eventually get your camera wet so you have to upgrade :)

The horizon on teh first two is alittle off, but that first one is quite good, alittle wider for some more context would have been good but still nice anyway!

I like #2, the colours here are quite pleasant, thats also a good composition, one that can only be achieved by getting wet feet - well done. I would go for the symmetry about teh horizon tho, maybe give it a bit more space on top and crop a bit off teh bottom?

#3 is also very tidy, it is quite a good representation of the scene on the day, teh colours match teh conditions on the day. I quite like teh way the fence leads up into that little collection of waterfalls, subtle but nice  A fraction more on the right hand side might have helped this.

on a side note, I wish that chain was still up on teh fence makes for a much better subject. :|

Last one is a good choice for BW but would go more contrast to get those whites in the flowing water to a true white.

Last two are fantastic. Love how the posts walk my eyes through the image.

Number three is great - really like the chain on the wood and the overall colour in this

I like the last one, the black and white looks really good, Gerrys redo with more contrast looks awesome!

Well I'd hate to change camps... I am waiting for the next high ISO performer... If I lose this camera, I'd have to hunt down a 40D.

Dude we can just adjust it next time we are there. Some wise crack removed it I reckon. It wasn't locked or anything...just tangled.

Hmm will have a go.

Love your edit Gerry. Thanks very much for taking the time to do it. I think I might have a go at printing this one.. Maybe have one more attempt to see whether I can improve on the sky. etc

You know what... I think I have found at least one solution to my horizon woes. My monitor was at an angle all this time!! :rotfl2:

Thanks ozczecho, this place is ripe for various compositions!
