These are Alex's first images he has effectively taken himself - whilst I provided support for the camera (D200 + 85 1.4) I didn't direct the camera. He looked through the viewfinder, said I want to take a photo of X and pressed the button. Noting the shallow depth of field, I was pretty impressed that he nailed the focus pretty well. By the way, there weren't thousands of photos of which these were the best 3. He took a total of 8 photos. Impressively, almost all of them were of what he wanted to photograph (curtains, pillows, etc).

Anyway, here are 3 (no really PP apart from the B&W one as it was otherwise too noisy. Colour noise = B&W grain. :biglaugh:

Tron?

Not bad for an infant :) I've seen adults take far worse. Maybe you have a prodigy on your hands

its facinating to see the psycology of how children percieve the world
an immediate subject recognition is his toys
i like the way he used the dappled light

He is also very steady with the camera

very impressive, encourage him and he will make you even more proud

Thanks guys - I will admit that I placed the toys in the light patch.

It was very cute - at one point, when he was looking through the view finder, he was searching for the shutter release and he said he forgot where it was!

Cameron - I may give him the Rolleiflex TLR as a good learning camera. :biglaugh:

I was very impressed with the way he controlled the camera and used the view finder.

Nice! He is well on his way.

You should buy him a a little G11 or something... He needs to get into the manual mode once in a while.
