dude, love the texture in the last one! would go well on a wall somewhere.

The last one is great cameron!

I would suggest to try a few crops. Especially pano through the middle to get the person in the thirds on right upper. then you simply and have only person and waves. Makes it more interesting IMHO. Also could try BW.

I was thinking about a BW conversion.....but I couldnt get a thirds pano crop working....this is what I came up with.

TIFF converted using Silver Efex Pro (to simulate one of my favourite films...Neopan 1600) in CS2 and then cropped in Capture NX2 (I like having the thirds grid when I crop).

I think your frame is too thick for this image so I removed it.

Those cool tones look nice. The frame is just a generic that i use for my website....the 5000 pixel version will have a smaller frame

That first image is awesome imo, the subtle change in tones on this is something I have not seen before, a bit of horizon correction and maybe a bit longer shutter (to get just a fraction of water movement) would be the only improvements from my end.

The last image works well as a pano, however my brain wanted to see more on the topside and less on the bottom, that little bit of beach just tantalises me and I want more. Niether the BW or teh cooler version of suren's rocks my world, the original has a realistic representation of the scenes colours and tones and, imo, there is not improvement on that.

I didnt have a tripod for any of these, and only a 60mm and a 135mm so I didnt have a lot of choice in slowing the shutter. I am very happy with the first but i really should have fixed that horizon....

As for the last one...I can see where your coming from with the sliver of sand, and in a BW you would lose that differentiation.

that is teh most important thing!

There is another advantage to Ektar over CCD and CMOS...you can shoot with reckless abandon and be sure that dust bunnies will not be a problem

Did you use a cokin for this Cameron? I reckon I could see a smidgen of purple creeping in. I wouldn't have thought the purple was natural for this angle of sun without any cloud cover.

I didnt have anything there with me that day...not even a tripod, let alone Cokin. The colours have been amplified in post, so I may have changed the balance a bit...
