Ground water flowing over rocks..potentially containing plenty of nutrients from the sewerage treatment works..adds some nice colours

I reckon if we had paused on the headland and taken a few of the bay and cliff face in that initial patch of beautiful light we could have done alright! But the moment the sun started to peak near/above the horizon it made things alot harder.

I am likeing the second image - I think you have a good compo with the foreground there, I wonder whether there is much detail to be had in the cliff - I would be interested in having a crack at the raw file if your keen.

I had a dabble in the jpeg and there is detail there and the raw can only be better! let me know if you object to your images being editing/posted and I will remove it.

on the second look, I have lost quite a bit of saturation, especially on that lovely greenery in teh foreground.

Thanks for turning up Ray and being a good sport, lesser persons would have crumbled during that walk

My thoughts as well...think a shot half way down the descent with the rocks in the foreground would have presented a better prospect. Maybe next time That helicopter idea sound good

That's why they are in the critique section. No objections whatsoever. Think your version is a bit too bright for me though. I did use some dlighting on the cliffs but backed off to preserve what I remember seeing

Ray, I can understand what you mean by retaining the scene as you saw it. However you really are losing Suren in the first, I really had to look.

Nice work with the lack of clouds!

#2 has great composition I reckon.

Fair enuf. This would depend on what you are looking at. I think if you were looking at the cliff face, then your eyes would have given you plenty of detail. If you were looking at the sun, then the sky would have been pretty clear.
i think i would prefer somewhere in the middle of yours and Gerry's image. I am surprised how much detail could be gleaned from a JPEG! I would have had no chance with my sensor.
