Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Seed Pod
My daughter brought this seed pod home for me to photograph, so put on the trusty 60mm f2.8 micro and come up with this. What do ya think?
The seed pod was placed on a black onyx tile, hence the reflection. For the b/g I placed a piece of scrunched up Aluminium foil. The b/g was lit by an off camera SB800 and fill on the subject was a second off camera SB800. The image was then processed in LR3, cropped 16:9 and rotated through 90 degrees to the vertical. I like how the seed pod looks suspended. The lower portion is a bit dark, but you have done an awesome job. Great idea with the scrunched al-foil
