A few images from the AW forum picnic a month back.

Not sure about this first one - is it too picture postcardish?

and this one I'm ambivalent about - I have concerns it may be a bit too stark

The next two, of course are all about being stark :|

I like #3 the best - the only thing I might say is that it might be better without that single trunk on the left?

Forgive me Peter...

#1 there is something odd about those clouds, they seem to have a blue/grey fringe about them, not something that is unnatural, but something that is not commonly as prominent. This image also feels a bit lacking in the sense of a visionary path and focal point.

#2 your seem just off centre on this one. Maybe crop in a bit off the top and RHS to even this out, and to remove the very bright sky

#3 +1 on that trunk

#4 I really like the tones

#1 probably is not as strong because of the lack of foreground.

#2 I quite like and would be curious if you tried a BW conversion? The colors are subtle and greens on the upper lefthand corner draws the eye out. The other option is to crop the top area off.

The BWs don't really interest me. I can't really find a good focal point etc. I am using a laptop monitor and can't probably appreciate the subtle tones.
