Darb - a very eclectic collection of pics but for composition and colour I like very much ”heading home”

chris, you know its funny you like that one, and another on there that i won an compeition with (the redgate beach wave crashing on rock .. "natures fury") ... both were almost fluke.

by that i mean, i saw the shot, quickly grabbed camera, lined everything up very hastily and fired ... with the wave on rock, i tried for about 20 minutes to reproduce, properly setup, with tripod and poised waiting for the moment ... could NOT get it.

That shot of the plane wing was taken as we taxi down the runway :)

have you been there? It put shivers down my spine something fierce. The girlfriend was nearly in tears. Quite amazing place really, being a youngin the concept of war and sacrifice is somewhat removed and de-sensitised to us.

No I havent been there. I presume it's in Canberra is it?
I get the same shivers with anything war related mate, especially WW1. trench warfare and the abject stupidity of the British officers in the Somme make me almost cry!!

Agreed, war sucks.

I love war memorial pic. Great DoF and the poppies add a splash of an appropriate colour.
