with dressage the backround is VERY difficult to control
The arenas are set up adjoining so for the most part can only be photographed from the end or near to
the sun dictates the best side
the test being ridden has a limited amount of movements to photograph
and these must be towards you
I do use colour replacement to make the colour of cars or people jackets less distracting
And for Marvin a few more

I was quite happy with the quality of the dressage shots as I used the Kenko 1.4 TC
on my 200-400VR

The most important element is to capture the horse in a split second, in the correct position, add to this the rider also has be in the correct position, hands, feet and torso.
A shallow dof is important.
Not easy.

Nice capture but i would like to see your pic from square on or at the shoulder/in front reather than behind
I take a few shots from behind but always a tight crop and an artistic view-share more--jim
