Wedding with borrowed gear

Well thanks to the generosity of a couple of friends I managed to get through the wedding on the weekend.

Was interesting to use some lenses different to what I'm used to - the 24-105L is a fantastic lens.

Would love some feedback:

I really like #2 but I would crop out the letter box? thing.

#1. The bride looks really nervous. Understandable, but perhaps you could work on your "Hey its a day to have fun" patter. She looks much more comfortable in #4 Perhaps selectively tone down the chain link fence so it is not as obvious.

#2. I agree with Lightning, but would clone rather than crop as I like the leading lines the plants give you & you would lose these (or the bride!!!) if you cropped.

#3 Yes it's a wedding photo. Watch his hands though. Unless you were after that look.

#4 Nice concept. Very 1950's. Perhaps crop a little RHS, also just below bottom elbow & about 1/2 - 3/4 head height above bride's head

Mind you. They are all bloody good considering you didn't have a camera to call your own two days earlier. Well done on organising the replacements. And kudos to those who helped you out. You owe them big time.

Just to reflect previous comments:

#1 the bride needs to drop her shoulders and relax, she looks like "hurry up and get this done".

in #4 it is much more natural and appealing. It also helps that I am a fan of the less formal shots anyway.

:agree:

David, I think you need just a bit PP on these to get them over the finish line, rather than wear out my tired fingers I had a PP crack, I think this makes it pop and removes some of the shadows. It is a great shot imo, made so by the composition! the offset subject, the leading line down to girls in the BG...blah blah...its all good

Let me know if ya want it removed.

Dave you've done exceedingly well with equipment that's foreign!

I quite like Gerry's edit with the shadows lessened. Great compo on that photo btw. Love the lines etc..

All of these need a bit of warmth on the WB front.

Thanks all for the comments and suggestions.

The first was on the wat to the ceremony, so no surprise the bride was nervous  I noticced she was doing it just after this and kept having to tell her to relax the shoulders :violin: Will be more on the lookout for this next time

Thanks for the edit Gerry - looks great. I'll definately do something similar when I do more PP.

I didn't do any PP on these so you're spot on Suren  Plan is to start going through them right after Jason gets out of hospital on Friday
