This is the lighthouse at Waipapa Point New Zealand. My wife and I did a campervan trip around the south island during September and I have only just started processing some of the shots.
This shot was taken from the road leading in to the lighthouse and as we were driving in the sun was shining on the building with the dark cloud in the background, the light was fantastic. I was trying to get closer for a good composition before the light went but just as I dragged the camera out and stepped out of the van the cloud did it's thing, I missed it by about 10 seconds. Still I am happy with the shot. There was snow in those clouds as well.

Click on the shot to see a larger version.

Nice view of the end of the country I come from! Interested in seeing a landscape version of this with the scenery to the right.

Nice photo Craig. I wonder how it would look without the white fence in the foreground?

I did not do a landscape version as there was a building and a car park just to the right of shot.

I found there was not enough foreground if I cropped out the fence. I included the fence because of the contrast in colour with the backgound and foilage, I think it also helps take some attention away from the rusty chain wire fence as well as add some depth.

Thanks for the comments guys.
