New Models At PlayHi
Hope everyone has been well... this is a recent shoot I did with a new Model that found me on another forum for models and photographers.. (modelmayhem.com for those who are curious), so this was a new field dealing first hand with a retailer who wanted images ( the model's friend.. funnily enough), so we rattled off a few frames before being escorted out by security.. haha this was shot in sterling circuit for those who are interested. 1st shot which was my favourite, was shot with cloud cover, 580EX II triggered via receiver from behind subject aimed directly towards her left shoulder, another 580EX positioned to the slightly offcentre, angled 45 degrees down towards subject and facing left with gary fong lambency diffuser. all feedback welcome the owner of the business wanted a shot for giggles so here's one that turned out well enough to post, and well enough to hear feedback as well Canon | Sony | Panasonic | Tamron | Sigma
My photography is still developing. Don't be so negative! http://www.photomarcs.com
Re: New Models At PlayWhy post only 2?
The first image shows an understanding of models pose and angles to juxtapose the lines of the architecture Using the backlit flash for rimlight and mood on the stairs is cool to make the model pop out but i question it's context in relation to the feel of the scene as in real life why would there be a light right there it looks like a natural image of a girl sitting on stairs, so why put a light backlighting her, it makes it somewhat unbelievable, that said i know what you are doing and full marks for thinking outside of the box although this backlight thing suits a studio concept where there are are no contextual clues that fight with the concept overall technically the aesthetic achieved is excellent Next time try to get more emotion from the model as a standard shot of a pose like this heavily relies on aesthetic im not getting any story from the model also to make it more believable make her relax more the pose is strong and hindered makes her look uncomfortable in this case i would ask her to rollplay something like this, been walking around all day shopping im exhausted i want to sit down and contemplate about my long lost love 2nd image looks like it's cropped, i think it would look better to show one shoe, expression is good but again get her to rollplay an emotion lighting is a bit flat one thing im wondering about is using the flash in available light situations jusdging from the scene the available light would of looked nicer as you could of backlit it and make it look more ethereal and nostalgic the flash takes away the innocence of the image and makes it look unreal in natural scenes and concepts stick to available light anyway im proud of you, your doing well Wendell Levi Teodoro
