When I was in Adelaide in June I pick up the Canon 300F4 from Big V,s friend the he Big V listed here. I was only in Adelaide for a day and a half. I was going to stay up to 4 days but had to fly home urgently as my son inlaw was shot in the head with a nail from a ramset gun on the day I arrived. He luckly to be alive and was paralysised down the left hand side he now has the use of this left hand side but no strength. He goes for a driving test in sydney on friday hoping that he can get his licence back which will be good as they live out of town.

Anyway the duck I really like this len focus very fast took some getting use to but I think I and getting better with it have not use it a lot so far.



This fellow flys passed when I had the 24-105 on so I raced back to the cabin to change lens and he was still there when I got back. shots taken at Eden

Sounds like your son is very lucky! That phone call must have made your heart skip a beat or two.
Was it a work place accident or was a bit of Tom foolery going on?

shite... i certainly hope he regains the full strength in his left side! I agree with Adam, sounds very lucky to be still alive!

If the canon 300f4 is anything like the nikkor one it is a cracker of a lens, its also a great length too.

Those are real crackers...this would be a fun lens to play with. We have a bunch of ex-police Nikkor AF-D 300mm F4's at work and I have been really tempted to swipe one for a weekend...

Wink It was a work place accident the nail was shot to attach a timber to a steel beam and went straight through and hit him in another part of the house pure accident.
Biggerry he may never work again it will take two years to see where he at.
