Night out on the townAs a follow up for the pano that started it all for me I revisited the location from which I took this pano. This time the Opera House was not painted up, but the coathanger's lighting has been fixed. Have I learn't much?
5000px It had also been awhile since I had been panning.... Cameron

Re: Night out on the townNice one Cameron. This one looks a little underexposed though. Also you will need to correct that horizon which will become obvious once it's pointed out.
It's a classic compo that I can't really think of how to improve. If it was at all possible to avoid those streaking Ferries that would be good too. Easily clonable if you wish. BTW I can't see any UFOs this time. (nor could I last time) Great to see some pics from you.
Re: Night out on the townWhoops...I totally missed that slant......I feel uber stupid now!
Yes it has been awhile since I have posted, a combination of less shooting, shooting film (still have two half finished rolls in cameras) and feeling off my game (afraid to post). But I will be posting a bit from the weekend... Cameron

Re: Night out on the town
Perhaps you should start a 365?
Re: Night out on the town
I have been thinking about it....but then again if i was to do a 365 I would be using a compact or my phone a lot more than a SLR Cameron

Re: Night out on the townThe small version looks a little dark but the large version looks spot on for exposure, the bridge pylons and the Opera House sails are beautifully exposed. Nice work.

X2. The exposure and clinical precision of this makes it stand out. Have seen this composition many times but most of it isnt pulled off this well. Great shot cam. Where was it taken from exactly ? EM1 l 7.5 l 12-40 l 14 l 17 l 25 l 45 l 60 l 75 l AW1 l V3
Re: Night out on the town

Thanks Rooz, this is taken from the viewing platform above Circular Quay station on the Cahilll Expressway. Cameron

Re: Night out on the town
Dude, I had a look and could hardly see any noise.[I think you are being too harsh on your self] BTW the larger version does have sublime exposure especially for the bridge and SOH. You should print this up!
Re: Night out on the town
*scratches head* maybe I will Cameron

Re: Night out on the town
I love to confuse. I do have a feeling that your monitor is set quite bright. It may be that mine is too dark so I see some pics as underexposed and the noise is hidden...
Re: Night out on the townThe shb pano works nicely, the exposure is a bit dark, even when viewed on the phone. I reckon with a little tweak and straighten it would be a good print. The comp is nicely balanced too.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
