Hi everyone
We spent some time in Sydney last weekend. It was great to meet Cameron and Marcus and put faces to names. Many thanks to Cameron for the loan of his point and shoot, too!
I have had the pleasure of attending 3 Bon Jovi concerts in the last couple of weeks.... only non DSLR cameras were allowed in, but for the final concert I got my D7000 in (only with a 24-70mm lens though) and in between dancing and singing took a few shots of Jon. C and C appreciated, especially for pp suggestions.

Hi,
think they are great just the way they are - glad you had a sensational time !
I can see you on Tom's shoulders to get above the crowd

obviously a fan
I have to admit I saw Bon Jovi in my teens when they played at Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney, that was back in the naughty nineties - why is that he looks the same today as he did 15 years ago?
The second image is by far the best imo, good composition pose and light, in teh first image the super hot highlights really takes away from the image, are these highlights recoverable?

I actually quite liked the first - perhaps it was just the expression
I don't find the hot highlights too distracting (then again I'm notorious for not noticing it in my own photos so we're all safe there
)

I like them all.
The first thing that hit me was how sharp they all are. I expected everything to be a little fuzzy given they're from a concert.
Great work!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Yes, I am a fan.... loved the band since I was 15 so it was special to get some decent photos. I can play with the highlights in the first photo as in the original they arent too bad.... but I also like it the way it is as in pp I played with it until I felt like I got the 'feel' of the song in the photo. Hopefully that makes some sense!!!

Cathy, good results, I like number 2 the best - as for the jumping we know you would have to do that just to see them
over the crowd!!!

Thanks again for the compliments everyone. Wendell, I took the DSLR in in my bag and got lucky, and had Tom on stand by outside if I was told I wasnt allowed to take it in. I guess with 50,000 odd people cramming into the footy stadium, security were more concerned with other things. I understand why they have rules about cameras at concerts but I figured I have no interest in selling any shots I get, and in 24 odd years of loving the band this was the first time I had been close enough to have a shot at a decent photo.
