I caught a glimpse of the fireworks this year from Cremorne point (9pm, didn't get the best view) and Neutral bay 12am from the comfort of a friend's couch.

Hope you guys had a safe and sound NYE.

Premo possie on the first image, that is very quinessential sydney NYE with the opera house, its refreshing to see a image without the harbour bridge but rather the sails of teh opera house.

Very true Gerry, it's not their money they're spending, it's ours!

As for the photos Suren, they are excellent, especially the first, a nice vantage point indeed.

Ozi.

Or hospitals, education, public transport ....

Or another massive sporting arena!

Roll on March. Hopefully someone will take this inept excuse for a government to task.

For me, #3 takes first choice. I like the spectators in shot. It adds a lot to the atmosphere. Perhaps you could knock back the exposure in that part of the frame though so they are not SO bright.

I like all of them, but I consider #1 the best.
And, yes, I agree that the spectators area
needs adjusting to command less attention.

Gerry is very correct about the lack of coat-hanger sydney!!! You had a very nice vantage point.

I would like to see more intensity in the colours and less blow-out, but then again you have done a great job, I had massive issues with blow out that night.

Thanks Greg, Zafra, BigV and Cameron.

The blow out (or thick trails) is partly due to smoke acting as a diffuser. I guess some colors (are brighter) need more exposure and others less.

Point taken. wish I could set it up so that they can keep still or have a PW fire off a flash...... It was less than 1600 feet away....
