Opinion request on astro pics
Posted: Sun Jan 09, 2011 11:49 amOK so now that I had a go at some star trails I thought that a nice pic of the milky way would be worth a go.
I tried really high iso without heaps of in camera noise reduction but that was not very good. I then tried iso 2000 and got some much better noise results to work from.
These pics are from Anna Bay up near Port Stephens looking back towards Newcastle.
So 2000 iso, f2.8, 10 second exposure to avoid any trail effects, 24mm on the 24-70. I even used the Tirpod for a change
I was going to attempt more star trails but the clouds were not going to help with this on the night.
I would like critique and opinion as to what I may be able to do better to improve these. Especially what I might attempt in pp. I did try to get some of the red hue down but lost out on the colour of some/lots of the stars when I did.
