A couple of weeks ago a friend and I set out on the 22km walk from Charlotes Pass to Mt Kosciusko and back.

Here are some of the images. Honest critique is most welcome.

They look great. I love the nice vivid blue from the altitude and the wispy clouds add to the pics appeal.

It would have been a nice walk. :)

Hi Woody, great shots. Done with a polariser or with PP afterwards? Love the saturated look and composition.

Woody.

Honest you'll always get from me

#1 - fantastic blue & gold. I'm guessing you bumped the saturation a bit, or maybe it's all just down to a CP. Whatever - it makes the shot.

#2 - the foreground rock is very dominant and doesn't lead me into the image. I'd crop it out completely so the water leads me into the image

#3 is a little busy for my tastes

#4 is the exact opposite - not much to look at in both subject & colours. I think bumping the saturation on this like shot #1 will make this one work.

Of the ones on SmugMug
#4 is great "the lonely hiker"
#6 - the twisted look to the landscape is a good capture
#10 - this is the only "rock shot" that works probably because the foreground isn't rocks!
#6 on page 2 another vibrant shot where the colours work well

#11 on p2 - good shot, but a little overexposed for my tastes.

The strange thing about all of these shots for me is that it doesn't look cold even though it must have been!

Thanks Guys.

Owen - I did have a Polariser on the lens but also a little bit of PP (well a lot on a couple).

Killa - Actually the walk sucked (but that's another story)

Peter - Thanks for all your comments, all taken onboard. It wasn't actually that cold. I just had a T-Shirt on from about 10am.

MHD - Ummm, OK :? :? :?

Darb - Thanks mate, checked out your site and you have some great images there.

Cheers,

W00DY

Woody, don't know if this counts as much of a critique, but when I opened this topic, my "turning-three-tomorrow" daughter went......

"Wow, that's pretty"......
