I was struck by the essentially industrial nature of modern winemaking. I guess the days of peasant girls crushing the grapes with their feet are long gone. If they ever existed.


Especially when it is surrounded by a quintessential Australian landscape


My take on that VERY imposing building

It seems I managed to republish all the photos I have on Flickr. I have fixed the links to the ones I posted last night, but older ones will have to fend for themsleves

You showed us (or me at least) #1 on your display sometime after you took it and I liked it then. Seeing it here, it is great. I really like the shadows.

Ah, those hard shadows!! I must say I hate that photo of me! funny how we always hate photo's that include ourselves, but that one wasn't very nice, i'm not even smiling! i figured you'd have deleted them like i did!! lol

Will have a look on flickr to see the rest! definately curious to see your photos from the visit and your trip down, there were a few stops you mentioned that you took a few photo's at, so i'm definately wanting to see them!!

You can fit a lot of peasant girls in one of those vats. Of course with 85% of the population living in cities the difficulty these days is finding them. That's why the winemakers provide a special work environment for them.

Love teh second one Greg, looks more like one of the industrial blocks over in Alexandria (Sydney) than a winery!
