Hello all, been about a week or so since I posted. I've been away to the coastal area around batemans bay with my family, I didn't get much of a chance to shoot much with the kids around but late one evening a lovely light show was captured. I got all up 16 images i like, but I decided to share a few on here, CC most welcome on how to improve the shots etc. Hope you like them as much as I do. All the shots are pretty much as shot, maybe a crop and watermarking, but yeah pretty happy! :D (sorry i've put 5 up if its not okay let me know) --Does anyone else enjoy photographing lightning or am I one of the only folks to venture out into the storms??? :rotfl2:

Some nice captures here....in particular #4 works for me...the rays radiate outwards creating motion as well as interest across the frame

there are a few peeps here who are into it, surpringly though no comments from them...

I personally would love to get some lightning shots, however do not plan to go and chase storms, rather wait for the opportunity..mmm lazy..

onto your images, these are great, great timing and excellent exposures on all of them and... the composition is pretty good to boot! my only suggestion comes from the PP side of things, I would bump the contrast just a bit and get a bit more sharpness out of them, for example below (let me know if you want it removed)

I like lightining shots. My pick would be #4 because the buildings in the foreground are less distorted than the others, an improvement would be to straighten the horizon so they do not seem to be sliding downhill. :) Also what biggerry said about contrast, Iam also to lazy to chase storms.

Thanks guys for commenting! I like the way you upped the contrast, will definately have a fiddle. I love storms and as soon as there is a storm approaching i head out, often taking my 6 and a half year old daughter who wants to come all the time too! we don't get them often around our part, but in the last year we've had some cracker storms so i've loved them, but this storm at batemans bay / tomakin was incredible, it hung around for hours, if only i had taken more memory cards i could have got more shots! Will take on all the advice about the contrast and the level, so thanks a lot for commenting!! :D
