Hi all,

It was rather cold and blustery this evening at the beach, but silly side of me convinced me to go to the beach to take photos...instead of staying home and resting

Here are 3 photos. USM'd and curves slightly adjusted. Please let me know what you think.

Hi PiroStitch,

I like all three of the photos.
No 1 is the most dramatic however.

Keep posting.

Cheers and happy Easter.

The photos are good, but I am particularly impressed that you made the effort. :)

PiroStitch - I only count 2

Nice straight horizons and I do like the colour balance in the first shot but would like to see more contrast in the foreground rock formation.

The second shot needs some more contrast to lift it up.

Thanks for showing and keep them coming :D

3 has now appeared

So, going on what I said above your first pic becomes #3 and I love it

Thanks for the encouraging comments everyone and happy Easter as well :D

The settings were all on manual, which bugs me a bit as I finally worked out how to have the settings work properly but only in manual mode. Can't imagine I'd be doing that too often if I choose to do event photography as it takes a while to get the settings right ...for me anyway ;)

I didn't do any colour balancing in the photos, hrmm maybe I should to bring out the colours a bit more?

Cheers,

Wayne

Hi Wayne...

All of your shots are great, but numbers 2 & 3 are probably the best...

Don't be worried about your irresistable desire to take photos in the worst weather... That's when you get the best shots...

Thanks John :) I'll make sure I quote that if I end up in hospital with pneumonia :D I guess artists really do suffer for their art

number 1 with a bit more saturation is gorgeous ... maybe crop it to a 12 x 4 pano ratio? the foreground and sky dont do much.

I did a quickie rush job to boost up the saturation but I think I over did it. I had already blown the highlights just where the sun was taking a peek and I think I overblew it some more. :D
