Classic shot, I would just like to see the whites brought out a little bit more with some contrast or brightness abjustment.

I would probably even go as far as this...
One thing I remember from the old B&W days is that a good B&W should have pure blacks, pure whites and as much greyscale as possible.

I like Philip's version better...closer to what I am seeing....maybe a bit more and with a bit of film grain (thinking Delta 3200 or Super Presto - bah...digital is not film)

Yep, I like it. Just one other little thing, Probably just me, but for some reason I keep going back to the two horizontal bars at the top, the fact that they're not parallel to each other seems to bother me so I tried fixing them, I don't know what you think.
