I have modified these more than I normally would and would appreciate your comments.

Thanks guys. I have no idea why the other photo isn't posting. I have tried it numerous times and have tried reloading to smugmug. Anyway, here is the link if you are inclined to look:

Excellent Patrick, the curved chair back provides a natural frame. Did you have to crop much of the photo out to achieve this look?

Ozi, this is a square crop where the height/width is about equal to the height of the uncropped image. There is about 15% cropped from the right and 20% or so from the left. To the right was a green shopping bag and to the left, well, I had to crop to achieve the square crop.

Number 1 works for me. It makes me forget the
technicalities and concentrate on the subject,
which, by the way, is gorgeous.
Number 2, on the other hand could improve by
trying another crop and ensuring the the head of
the subject is slightly more to the left and in the
intersenction of the two thirds, then leave similar
edge space to the right, so you still have the basket
at the back in full view and and the sofa leading
the eyes into the picture. I am not sure if I have
explained myself well. It is an engaging picture, but
I believe it can be further inproved.
