Adelaide Fringe Parade

Some shots of the (shortened restaged) Adelaide Fringe Parade from Sunday. The others members there can attest to the heat and terrible harsh light we had. These shots won't compare to some peoples' with media credentials, but they were better than I expected.

Some of the waiting crowd:

They may be tall, but they're not people with the best view:

This wasn't too bad for holding the camera above people heads and shooting blind:

Signs for when the parade rages out of control...?

Hi,
plenty of color and carnival atmosphere you've done well to avoid the harsh shadows

Looks like you had some very good weather, albeit it a bit bright - Good bright colours though, the first image is quite nice, plenty of space and feels like a 'media pass' shot

maybe you could have commandeered a pair of those stilts, would have sorted out those height issues :rotfl2:

I love the shot on your smugmug of the indian/srilankan lady having a groove next to the speaker!

Nice pictures. I like the colour and how
they convey the general mood.

Hi Deb. Thanks. I used the fill light in post processing a fair bit in many of these. The poor flash can't overcome the sun.
Did you manage to get in for the parade?

It was certainly bright. Thanks. The first was from before they started, when you could just wander around and get amongst them. It's certainly my favourite of the day.

I think the people in the parade had a great time. Being in the crowd was a little less fun...

Thanks. I was wondering if I pushed the colour too much, but it seemed to match the day.

nah, I reckon its pretty spot on, I would not go much further tho, my first thought was...'mmm punchy' rather than 'errr over cooked'
