I spotted these reflections during the day and decided to head out at sunset. It is difficult to imagine that this sort of vista is present within the city limits!

Excellent find! I like it, although I tend to want to see a little more at the top. But that might be just me, i tend to spend more time looking at the bottom trying to see what was at the top.

Love the colors you've captured and the reflections are just fantastic, o and the green stuff looks interesting too....just a different type of green stuff to what we usually see on here!!

critique?

1) the 'horizon' feels alittle off, this is purely perspective since the ground is level, however when I look at it it feels like it need to be tilted to the right (CW) a fraction, probably only 0.5degree.

2) Symmetry, this is a preference thing, I like symmetry, hence I reckon symmetry about teh horizon would be sweet.

3) The top portion of the image feels a bit bright, maybe just tone it down a fraction.

However these are all minor tweaks, at the end of teh day you have seen and captured a very nice composition and thats 90% of the battle

Suren, this is an incredible photo. You have nailed it, (whatever "it" is). Perfectly framed. I would hang this one somewhere.

I do agree with Gerry here, but it is an exceptional photo and opportunity taken well advantage of.

Once again would suggest trying a vertical that would let see more of the top. Nice find and good work.

Nice image Suren! I would have liked to have seen a second image where you have thrown a stone into the water so that we could see concentric ripples...just for something different. but a lovely image nevertheless!

There were bright highlights of the sky which tended to burn out so I cropped it out a little.

Lastly, Gerry, I have been using the in-built level and getting pretty close to horizontal. I did discover that my monitor last year was at an angle affecting some of the horizons.

Like the monochrome and the symmetric, the last square crop not so much

I've also been using the D7000's inbuilt level quite a bit (I've programmed it as the top item in My Menu and assigned that to my function button).

I like the #2 in your second series of images! Very nice, just a bit more balanced, but thats my personal preference, I think you should go back and try again and do the rock idea!!

I am warming to the symmetry quite a bit.

Rod, my inbuilt level takes two presses of the info button so it's relatively convenient. Since I don't have a dedicated WB button (Damn you Canon ), I had to program that to the SET button so don't have any custom buttons left. I find that the in built level is still not perfect. It gets you very very close though.

the reworked 2nd image rocks my boat you will have to send me a tiff of this one day and I would love to have a go at processing it... there are heaps of options. Even better, thats a good image for PP session  btw, the BW version does not work for me.

I agree that the 2nd reworked image is the pick of the bunch for me. Nicely composed and exposed image.

Difficult to believe that it is in the city!
