I just love this sort of photography in case you had not already noticed. My wife calls it a sickness.

I think I like the square crop for the green.

I prefer the square crop as well, Colin. It brings the fungus a little closer to the viewer.

All three of these images are great, btw. You're doing great work.

And being a fun guy into the bargain. :)

Thanks for your input as well Rooz , I was tending towards the rectangular one but am still of two minds. I am happy with the way both look, I just want to see what other think as this is a good way to guage appeal.

Wow really like the directed lighting in #1

#2 looks very 3D! Nicely done. Perhaps you can co-erce a little sharpness out of it.

The greens are great! I think I prefer the rectangular crop by a smidgen.

Thanks Colin. I think that kind of composition lends itself well to such fungi.

And, unlike the others so far, #2 is my pick of these. I like the soft milkiness of the image and the very even light you've achieved. As for the green one - I also prefer the square crop.

Nothing to critique on these Colin :D

Oh and the preffered crop for me is the rectangular one.

nice, I like these ones!

with regard to the crop, I would leave it uncropped, it seems to get a bit lost in teh cropped version, which is counter-intuiative but thats the first thing I noticed :)

I also reckon the white balance is thrown off a bit by all that green, heres a quick edit I did, let me kow if ya want it removed! I tried to make the little old toadstool standout a bit more and also corrected the colour cast.

Thankyou all for taking the time.
You can always have a go with my images Gerry, thanks for the effort.

It was a bit soft to start with Suren, I was a bit shakey.
