the foreground.

I sensed a nice sunset yesterday and started heading to Bare Island but thought I'd check out Botany bay instead. I didn't have spots in mind (didn't know any) so took the first spot I could find as time was running out.

In this spot, there was absolutely no foreground interest. There were some birds but they were expert at keeping along distance away....

So I had to create my own foreground in these. Please C&C away. PS: I think I will need to buy a fishing rod and a hat perhaps.....

Great spot with the sandbar leading you in to the shot. I like the footprints as the foregound interest in #2.

The footprints are a vital element in your image. A great example of how to avoid an empty foreground.

#2 is definitely the better of the images. The footprints really help!

Perhaps take the sky from the first and add to the footprints of the second. The sky makes it look like you used an ultra wide (I presume however you didn't)?

I was thinking it was definitely an ultra wide...sky, very distant horizon and those footsteps recede in size very quickly...

Hey Suren, the first needs a bit more love in the light department imo, there is some good detail there which could well be subtly brought out to compliment the scene.

The second is a classic cliche (in a good way) way to produce a interesting foreground when there is little love from a beach. However with footprints, I reckon they need to carefully placed, in this case they need to be heading away from the camera rather than towards? its a bit hard to see their direction.

Anyway regarding teh first image, here a quick edit that imo, gives it that extra bit of pop - with a ghosty suren in frame.
