Gasp...me using a superzoom.....I have been playing with this new lens for work. Putting it through it's paces. Although I dislike superzoom lenses I have found the focal range to be very useful and the image stabilisation in this lens to be very powerful.

As a bonus I discovered that the D80 can be usable at 1600 ISO and 3200 ISO (under the right conditions...but then it may have been the superzoom affecting me)

Hand held.....1/1.3s @ 18mm

800 ISO @ 270mm

Hi 1 (3200 ISO) @ 270mm

I had the previous version of this lens for about a week when I first bought my D90 (waiting from my 18-200 to arrive) and I was very happy with it.

im glad you posted about this lens!

i have been looking at upgrading my 18-105mm kit lens from the D90 for one of these.

i have been looking around at the 28-300mm VR nikkor lens.

This new version is smaller, lighter and a joy to use. It could do with full time manual focus override though.

I would be more inclined to get this lens than a 28-300 VR as this will still leave you with wide angle abilities, and will be much better balanced on the D90.
