Natural subject

I haven't had much time to browse or post to the site of late. Either I have been ridiculously busy or I've had no internet et al.

I was visiting some dear friends a few weeks ago. They are going to live in Mauritius soon as missionaries; the dad was born there. Seeing some magnificent diffused light streaming through the lounge room, I lined the family up for some photos.

This is a cropped image of the second youngest daughter, with minimal PP involved. She just knew how to pose for a photo. (Some people have it, others don't!)

Edit: For anyone interested, exif data is ISO 500, 50mm prime lens, 1/125 @ F/2.5

Suren, it is all God's light and nothing else. When I saw the light coming in, I ran for the camera and started ordering my friends around for some shots.

Unbelievable Ozi! Couldn't have timed the light better. It's not often that you get a natural subject as well.

I generally like to let them marinate for about an hour, then pop them onto the bbq. :)

Oz,

Beautifully captured. Lovely light and subject.

"Samuel Clemens once said that all kids should be placed in a large wooden box, with a hole bored into the same for air. At the age of 13, one should simply put a stopper in the hole." :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

I love the simplicity of the image. The subject has space to define herself. A small sheet of white cardboard with a hole cut out for the lens....just to bounce a little light into the eyes may have been beneficial.

Beautiful my friend but remember that if God created the light it was human kind that created the camera

But I suppose he did make you :D

Can't really add more to what has already been said, but if Gary likes a photo of a kid, it must be a good photo. Which this is. Well done.

See, I was simply fawning* for attention. :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

[the cold & flu medication is working wonders today]

* get it? You referred to a "deer" in your comment, following my reference to a young goat, so I used the term "fawning", derived from "fawn" which also means young deer. It's comedic brilliance.

The explanation was funnier than the original!
