I was very happy to have my D300 returned to me after its adventures down south with Mr Darcy! After coffee and a chat with Greg and Colin, we parted ways and myself and Colin headed down to the Valley of the Waters in search of waterfalls and fungi. Sadly the fungi wasnt allowing itself to be located, but the falls and cascades did have some water flowing.

The only really decently interesting Fungi that we came across

The 10-stop ND was not easy to use...simply wasnt enough light!

I'm not sure the 10 stop (how long was the exposure - like 5-10mins?) did anything for this more than a "normal" 1/2 or 1sec exposure would have done.

With the pano I think it's just too dark and hazy down the bottom - perhaps a GND to brighten below the shadow across the horizon and some more contrast to cut the haze?

It was a bit of a waste of time really. A normal stopped down 30 sec exposure would have been the same. I actually had to go to 800 ISO, f/5.6 and was still very under exposed (this is a +2ev processed NEF file).

It looks alright to my tired eyes last night, but I knew I forgot something (contrast adjust!!)

I like the water falls Cameron.

My efforts on the pano were a bit different to yours.......darker, only one image, and no grad.
Yours is also cooler than mine, matches the weather better.

Yes yours are a bit different, but you still have captured the hour nicely. I think I will have another touch up on mine later (when I am actually on a computer, currently on a netbook)

The first falls shot is a bit over exposed imo, there is loss of white detail, there is also some water droplets on the filter which need to be cloned the second falls shot feels under exposed on my monitor but is a classic composition

With the panos, maybe try and warm them up a bit, even if it is selectively on the foreground, also a sligth crop to remove a bit of that dead space on the sides would be good and would also draw the viewer into the centre more.
