There are not many aircraft in the world that I would care to fly in or own, however the Cessna Birddog (CO1 i think) is one that I feel is built for man of my size tHis one is a turbo prop one so it has some decent 'get and go', these aircraft are a aerial photographers dream, windows that open - windows that are real sized ones, not those dinky pieces of crap to let some cool air in

Anyway, I had a few minutes spare...

One of our earlier, very active members, whose avatar was birddog flew these things during the Vietnam war. His callsign was birddog 114.

These are some interesting images Gerry. I can see why you would like this craft. I do like the vintage processing of this set, but do you have some unprocessed images to share/compare?

Looking at the artificial horizon, is your hanger on that much of a slope? I don't think you would want to fly it in the dark or fog if it not your hanger.

Attitude Indicator is all good, they always look 'wonky' when they are not 'erect' - basically there is a little gyro inside that is spun up by an electrical motor or by a vacuum air system...

Gerry, these have a superb mood to them. Compos on #1 and #2 are especially strong as there is not much clutter.

The processing is perfect I reckon. I can't tell whether you have D lighted or photomatixed. I am favouring D lighted...

I only took several images so my selection is a bit thin, I only had a few minutes to spare at the time..

I had a peruse thru some of teh old threads - quite interestign reading and quite frankly if I had known the history of this place and digitalslr i would have steered so damn clear of the place! its hard to believe this guy somehow ripped people off with so much money - given his his heavy involvement tracking him down should not have been a problem.

This plane is lit with two overhead lights attached to the ceiling. The one from the left upper is much stronger(or closer to plane) than the right upper.

You switched off all other lights in the room. You handheld this shot. There was no flash.

I was about to believe that you had one light on and was popping ya flash with a ladder until I saw the 1/20th....

I see three lights from the shadows. The fourth may be at the rear.

yeah its hard to tell there is an extra two lights - basically they are pretty directional lights so they act like diffused spot lights looking straight down, hence the outer two probably provide very little effect other than a bit of spill.

yep, thats the one, or commonly known as bushman tyres, bit hard to miss since they look like freakin' rubber ferris wheels on the aircraft. One thing that would be interesting is to see how the short field t/o performance is with a turbine, google videos of piper cubs with bushman tyres and be prepared to be amazed!
