China - for Gary

As promised here are a few shots taken while in China last year. I spent four fascinating months living in a 'small' (by Chinese standards) while we did business there, it was certainly an experience and I have to admit that while at first I was shocked and somewhat appalled I am now totally in love with the madness that is China.
Taken in a park in the larger city of Nanjing. It's not uncommon to see people wearing face masks when outside, and considering the amount of pollution in the air it's probably not such a stupid idea either.
Women washing their laundry in the river, I was fortunate enough to have a bathroom where I washed my laundry - on a washboard as there was no washing machines available for my use.
China is an eclectic mix of old and new and I think that this image portrays it how it is.
Bless this gents heart, he rounded the corner with his wheelbarrow on his way to gather up the rice he had laid out to dry in the morning before the dew hit and when he spotted the mad western woman racing backwards with his camera running backwards in an attempt to frame and get a shot of him he didn't so much as blink an eye.. either he is amazing patient or I have finally perfected the art of being invisible!
