Enrichment day, Adelaide Zoo

A few of us caught up at the Adelaide Zoo (where else...) as they were having another Animal Enrichment Day.

They give the animals different things to help stimulate them. Like the big cats get cardboard balls to destroy...

...and the orang-utans got bags of treats, and so on.

It was overcast and a bit drizzly. So the light was even, but a little dark.

It's good to see the animals more active than usual. Some like this Fennec Fox are normally hard to shoot.

I took too many shots, but I've managed to trim them down and put them online.

Thanks guys!

I quite like the peacock shot, but the background grid effect really bugs me. I hadn't thought of it, but perhaps I should try a background replacement.

Beautiful colours in both the orang-utan and peacock shots.

As you say, the background grid in the peacock shot is a little distracting ...

Great shots Daniel, I am jealous that us country bumpkins cant see these animals very often like some of you stalkers up there, but well done with the light being like that can a blessing sometimes.

Cheers

We work with what we have available. :D You have the wilds of the country on your doorstep, I've got conveniently interned wildlife.
But I am guilty of taking our boring local stuff for granted.

I've cut out the peacock. I haven't come across a simple background yet, but here is something busy but fitting:

Too much? :D

only by a fraction imo, maybe just darken it a bit - nice idea though...
