I ended up taking a few Pano's whilst I was up there with the IR camera. All have been stitched by Auto Pano Pro. I need feedback!

Hi Cam,

I'm not sure any of these are doing it for me. Nice landscapes and some interesting cloud action in #2 and of course this is just my very humble opinion and I've never done IR (so take this all with a very large grain of salt ) - but...

I think I keep expecting to see dark blacks and really white foliage and clearly defined details if you know what I mean (kinda like the rocks and bright leaves at the left bottom of #2). I don't feel like they are IR, but more midtone monochromes and feel a little flat for me - I looked at all of them large and I liked #2 (but not the blown highlights in the clouds) and #4 (although perhaps not the kinda strange light blue clouds and bright spots) the best

#1 probably had the best contrast and I liked the patterns in the hills and valleys but for me it was too noisy and none of the details felt sharp or defined

My favourite is the second- though I think you need to bump contrast a fair bit, try and get the foliage to 'glow'. here is a real quick PS rework- let me know if you want it taken off, this looks a bit too contrasty but hopefully you get the idea.

I have to agree, I do not think the IR landscape really works for me either. The mass of trees seem to be just a mass that lacks detail.
The stitching seems good and the compositions are good, but I would prefer colour.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am certainly taking it all onboard, and will keep it all in mind next time I am out and about with the D80IR.

Robert I am really glad you have come out of the woodwork. I know you have some experience with IR and would love to get some tips from you. This is really a new adventure for me. I am not sure if my CWB is perfectly correct, hence I am not 100% happy with a lot of my false colour work. Do you reset your CWB everytime you shoot or do you keep the one that you have set? Also, with lenses, are you finding the focus confirmation dot coming up for you in your 300D? I have had an interesting experiences with my lenses (I am still testing my kit to find the best lenses for the job) but I have found that quite often I cant get focus confirmation (my D80 has been re calibrated for AF and it works a treat whenever I am trying anything close).

In post, I am finding that a lot of the images feel flat, and have been bumping contrast to battle this, obviously I am not being aggressive enough. What do you do? Curves?

I've viewed #2 large and it's a tidy compo IMHO. Nice fore, middle and background elements and nice detail to hold interest. You will need more contrast on the midtones. Perhaps try D light! The highlights looks ok - perhaps slightly too bright. Printworthy I reckon.
